Stop decorating your problems

Moodboards won’t fix decisions.

Friend to friend: every year, I see the same loop.

Fresh aesthetics. New moodboards. Big declarations for next year.

Unfortunately, people carry the same operator into the new year. The same habits, the same blind spots, the same decision loops. And then we wonder why the outcomes feel familiar (and they suck).

If you’re not fulfilled with this year’s results, many things come into play. But a lot of it is tied up in your decision-making skills.

The one thing that actually changes next year is not another “vibe”. Not another idea. It’s looking back (with blunt honesty), so you don’t copy-paste the same year with a nicer color palette.

When you lay your brand on the table (personal or business) and ask, What exactly worked? What exactly didn’t? Where did promise and proof fall out of sync?

You stop decorating problems and start fixing the real thing.

Behind every brand decision, there’s a pattern trying to protect you. It’s not evil. Or “bad”. It’s just running the show in the background and making your use not even 1% of your creative potential.

Do a test. Answer these:

• What did I keep doing because it felt safe (templates, trends, easy posts)? What did I avoid because it felt risky (clear offer, direct ask, saying the price)?

• What did I secretly “gain” by not changing (feeling in control, staying perfect on paper, avoiding judgment because I didn’t publish)?

• In my head I say I’m bold/premium/an expert. What evidence did I actually show? (Clear results… or vague, on-and-off, hobby vibes?)

• Finish this: “If I say exactly what I do and for who, I’m afraid ____.” That fear is blocking your growth more than deciding your next colour palette.

• Which 3 posts/offers created money or real opportunities?

Circle one uncomfortable insight. That’s your first fix. Accepting it to be able to move forward. No hiding under the carpet.

Let the old self die (for real)

If this year’s operator got you results you don’t want, don’t take them into 2026. You can respect who you were and retire the patterns that kept you stuck. Old copy, old visuals, old offers, old positioning: if they pull you back, let them go.

Make 2026 the first year where your promise and proof finally match.

I’m running a live workshop on November 15, called Brand X-Ray. We’ll audit your message, offer, positioning, visuals and pick the first fix, so next year changes for real, not just in aesthetics. Remember: stagnation compounds. And this is my only and last event of the year.
